Enlisting Extra Help For Weight Reduction.

So, I got myself a Fitbit to help chart my stats and stuff. I am new to apps like this, but I have found out that it works. It is a constant reminder that I am working towards a goal.

So, whenever the kids want KFC or Freddie’s, I look at my calories and say I will have a water! Since I purchased the scale last weekend, it shows that I am down four to five pounds. I watch my calories like a madwoman.

I try to keep breakfast at 450 or 500, lunch sets in around 360 to 450, and dinner I might eat something around 600 calories. I have fruit, low calorie snacks and lots of chicken. I have never really been a fan of fried chicken, so baked is okay for me.

I am a little concerned about this weekend. I want to BBQ on Saturday, but I don’t want to blow my hard work. Would a grilled burger be a deal breaker? Any thoughts? What are some low calorie foods that would go good for a BBQ?

On a side note– lesson learned- I never knew how many calories went into some of these drive thru eateries. We are talking 1000 to 2300 calories for a number 4 at KFC. The information is right there for everyone to see it, but I guess sometimes we see what we want to see. I don’t know if I will ever be able to justify to myself how 900 calories for one meal, is okay. Most of all, I can’t wait until my knee is one hundred percent better. So that’s the lesson learned for tonight.

Remote Learning For Parents

So, the girls and I have officially started remote learning this year. I like to include myself in the equation because we are in it together. As the year is just beginning, I am quickly learning my place. My children have even asked if I would allow them to return to school. I am like the Hulk, at least that is what they told my husband.

I will admit, I had a little freak out session when one of my daughters picked up her cell phone and proceeded to call her friend, who was also a remote learner. I just logged on the T Mobile site and politely informed her that I was about to turn her phone off.

After her outrage wore off, she was able to once again focus on her work. I learned a valuable lesson towards the end of last year. I learned to stay in the room with the girls as they completed their assignments. I turned a gaming room into their classroom. While they are working on their assignments, I can be working on my articles or something else.

I hope you guys are finding the right fit for your remote learning experience.

The World We Knew

We are living in a modern age that monitors our every move. If you have certain things in your house like Amazon’s Alexa, some of your conversations could even be monitored. With the new modern technology we are able to save lives and make the roads safer. This week we will take a look at some of the best new technology and we will talk about things that might need to stay in the science department.

Let me take you back 22 years ago. My husband and I were just starting our life as a married couple and traveling to a new location via a map. I’m not talking about a map on the smartphone, but a map made out of paper. GPS units were too expensive or unheard of for a large amount of people. So, many of us relied on pens and maps to move across the country. Years later GPS devices would become affordable and make travel safer for all. That’s right people, I am placing GPS devices in the category for making our lives less dangerous by omitting the chance for error.

The cell phone comes into the door some years later. It would come after the arrival of the cordless phone. The cordless phone of course was the baby of the famous ganny phone, yet that didn’t satisfy the need for newer technology. So, in walks the arrival of the cell phone, people no longer wanted home phones and answering machines. The first cell phones were large and ugly for the most part, but it provided people with a way to talk on the go and never miss important calls. So, this once much needed home phone that used to hide under covers, stretch into bathrooms, and cause fingernail hell soon disappeared. Look at it, that’s a phone.
