Update: My Husband’s VA Appointment

I’m officially back off of my hiatus. So, a quick recap of things that have been going on since I’ve been MIA. My husband had his c&p appointment for sleep apnea yesterday. This claim was literally filed around January 31st.

We got the appointment that a C&P have been scheduled two days ago. It’s possible it could have been 3 days ago, but the point was we had two days to pretty much plan everything around going to a c&p exam, which was about 50 miles away.

So, we go all the way out to Round Rock and the appointment doesn’t even last 10 minutes,Y’all. I kid you not, we drove all the way to Round Rock for some nurse practitioner that asked my husband maybe six questions.

These are the situations that our vets are in when it comes to exams scheduled by the VA. Can you tell me about any exam you’ve ever been to that doesn’t even last 10 minutes?

Luckily, I wrote a whole page prior to us arriving at the clinic so at least he was able to give that to the nurse practitioner. She wouldn’t let me in, so my notes were able to do the talking.

My husband is currently at 90% disability for the VA and he was diagnosed with sleep apnea last month. My husband isn’t overweight and doesn’t suffer from allergies or sinus anything like that. He had a back surgery in 2009 that basically ended up messing up a lot of his nerves and stuff. Not only did it mess up his nerves, but it also managed to mess up the top part of his neck.

After doing a lot of research, I found out that neck problems are one of the reasons veterans develop sleep apnea. Another research found sleep apnea is a direct correlation with depression. My husband suffers from major depression. We’ve been pretty much fighting for months over his retroactive pay. It’s frustrating because we’re still waiting on a settlement that was granted all the way back in August and the only thing we keep hearing is well it’s a lot of entitlement coming from years ago.

Okay, but it’s been seven months, with VA messing up on appointments and not knowing what’s going on with his case. At this rate I don’t really trust anyting Veteran Affairs tells people, I feel like they employ a lot of dishonest examiners to do appointments.

The clinic we went to yesterday was a LHI clinic. If you’ve never been to one of these LHI appointments, let me fill you in on what happens. The examiners do not listen to the soldiers, they do not seem to be qualified in many of the illnesses that the soldiers suffer from.

We have yet to see an actual service-connected issue gain service connection from a LHI clinic. All service connection disorders are coming from the VA examiners. LHI are contracted out by the VA to conduct exams. It looks like they are contracted to interfere with veterans getting fair decisions. Often times their decisions are overturned in court. I know no other organization that receives as many lawsuits as the VA and still manages to stay afloat.

Oh well.

What Will Be Our Destination? Will The Republicans Call Witnesses?

Our nation is standing at a fork in the road. We will either go down in history as being corrupt, or we will show how America found its hidden voice. Rather you are on the side of the Republicans or the Democrats, the next 24 hours will prove to be very important for us all.

I’ve stated time and time again on Twitter and in real life that the Republicans must call witnesses in regards to the impeachment of President Trump. It is the only way to get a clear understanding of the situation.

If it were my legacy at risk I would stop at nothing to clear my name. The only way for Trump’s presidential legacy to continue without this dark cloud of deception looming over the pages, is to commit to a fair trial. For most of us with any trial background, we understand the danger in not having witnesses testify in regards to important issues. It’s like running blindly without knowing where your next step is going to land you.

I’ve noticed the trend in regards to the word fairness. The Republicans say the Democrats didn’t call any witnesses when they went forth with the impeachment trial, so they claim to be justified in doing the same. However, we as a country deserve to understand and know the complete honest truth. What better way to prove which group is lying then by bringing forth witnesses?

For the sake of our country, we need to know exactly what we are dealing with. Are we dealing with political assassinations or justifiable concern over foreign instigations welcomed by our current leaders? If we can’t get to the bottom of the situation then 20/20 becomes a joke.

I want to know that we can trust our government no matter who is in office, I want to know that our political parties haven’t become so toxic that they’ll do anything to eliminate people who think differently than they do, and I want to make sure that we are not positioning ourselves into another 4 years foreign influence.

This foreign influence not only highlights Trump and his dealings with Russia but it also brings up questions from Biden and his dealings with Ukraine. Does he have a relationship with them and if so, how does that fit into his Foreign Policy? For once and for all, the American people need to know the truth and then maybe we can move forward without so much animosity.

Did The Government Help To Create A New Breed Of Troubled Kids?

Why didn’t we have school shootings and massive bullying when we were younger? It is mainly because of one word and it begins with the letter P and ends with the letter S. PARENTS! We talk about guns and mental health a lot in this country. However, I haven’t heard people talking about the lack of discipline in our country because of fear. When we allowed the government to come into our houses and take on the position as the silent parent, we opened the door for disruption.

Some of you might find it ironic as hell that I am taking this position, but there’s a reason behind it. When I was in the academy for investigator training, one of the first things we learned was that the majority of CPS cases would be fictitious. I didn’t want to believe it because surely 85 percent of cases couldn’t really be just parents, trying to be parents. However, after I graduated the academy and cases started coming in, I soon learned the dark side of reporting.

While a handful of my cases were actual abuse, the majority of my cases were not abuse. Many of them were cases with teens or preteens who were out of control. Some of the children were so out of control that their parents could no longer afford to take care of them. In many ways, we have the government to thank for this epidemic. Parents are scared to parent because anything and everything can be used against them when it comes to reporting.

We are talking about in some cases parents raising their voices, spanking, removing doors, and talking to children about their weight issues, these are some of the things that parents did to get CPS called on them which always resulted in Rule Outs. The calls would come from clinics, schools, family members, or people involved in custody fights.

A single mother was using a provider for her newborn and she didn’t feel like the doctor was really showing the level of concern that she needed, so she switched providers. The clinic called in a case on the new mom with a load of lies which were easily picked apart due to records. I have always and will always say CPS needs a new screening method. The current method does more harm than good. If you have a reporting system that lets retaliatory accusations flourish then you have a broken system.

There needs to be some form of punishment for false accusations because there are too many false allegations that result in stagnated parenting. Good parents become fearful of future calls and stop reinforcing rules out of fear of future CPS interactions. This fear then spreads to family members and friends which later interrupts how the family is able to parent. Keep in mind in order to close cases investigators must contact references even if the case happens to be fictitious. Thus spreading fear of how and what parents can do to parent their children.

Enter in the wayward child that we see today. Parents cannot parent due to fear of the government and the government is not equipped to take on the full responsibility of parenting all the children they have helped corrupt. So people reach for medication or therapy when perhaps the only thing they needed in the first place was the ability to parent their children without the fear of the government.

Uber And Their Defining Moment

Yesterday started out being a happy day full of fun and promise. I picked up car from the dealership and started on my way home. While I was in route to my house the car started to act funny. Soon I found myself pulling over to a mechanic’s shop trying to explain the sudden break down that nearly caused a wreck.

My newly used car had stopped working not once, but twice before I reached the shop. Not only did it stop working, but it nearly stopped on the highway. As I pulled up to the light the car shut off once more. So, I’m freaking out by now and hating the fact that I do not know my husband’s number. Hell, I didn’t even have a phone on me. I do not like taking phones, or at least I didn’t like taking phones until this situation took place. I’m looking at the guy from the mechanic shop explaining how he can’t help and at the same time thinking about the AS IS phrase plastered across the contract I just signed.

I’m at this shop away from my family, stuck with an unsafe car, and really just not knowing what to do next. After the manager of the shop explained that his shop couldn’t help me, I decided that I would try to make it across the street to Walmarts by way of the parking lot and street. After the car cut off about three more times in the parking lot, I stopped and just looked around. I finally made up my mind that I would try to reach Walmart’s because a phone was my only way out. A phone would allow me to call my husband once more, download the Uber app and make my way home.

After a few more stalls I was safely in the Walmart parking lot. I parked near the lawn area on the 8th row. I jumped out of the car and ran inside to buy a phone and plot my escape from my Ford Escape. My day didn’t ease up then, I guess the heat was starting to get to me, so it took me like 45 minutes to just locate my number on my new cheap Verizon phone. Verizon, you really do not need to make phone numbers that hard to find ever again.

So, businesses that got a beautiful A plus yesterday would be Walmarts, Pepboys, and my savior Uber. As soon as I was able to sign up for Uber and ask for the ride, my driver just magically showed up within a second or so. I don’t think I would have made it another 20 minutes, or 30 without turning into a total mess. Not only was he able to offer me a cooler climate, but he was also able to offer me hope. As for the salesman that told me he thought the warning system light was meant for a tire or just off, he was wrong. It was a warning that something serious was wrong with that car and it put my life in danger. http://www.killeenautosales.net/ I am very upset with you guys. By the way, the car is now at the Ford house getting fixed. I am glad to be alive, but what if I had died on the highway because you sold a vehicle that was too dangerous to be driven? My children would have been without a mother and my husband without a wife because you weren’t honest about the car.

Texas Shoots Down ICWA.

In basic language it means Indian Child Welfare Act. According to the Washington Times this morning.

“Court strikes down Native American adoption law, saying it discriminates against non-Native Americans”

This now means that ICWA isn’t going to be able to protect Native Americans anymore. The law was created because too many Native American children were being pulled away from their families and they were losing their culture.  This is my fear in regards to the striking down of the law here in Texas, you will now see more removals of Native Americans. We already know that some areas removed more than they have to, and in my opinion that issue needs to be addressed. ICWA in my opinion saved those children from being caught in the web of deceit when it comes to removals that really didn’t need to be removals.

As a former investigator, I can tell you some investigators and supervisors will work their fingers to the bone to do the right thing for children. However, you will get some supervisors like the one I had. She didn’t care about the family or trying to keep children in the family. You know, it’s funny I was talking to my husband about this last night. I told him working sure made things easier for us, but in my heart I knew it was eating away at my soul. I went to sleep and dreamed about a Native American child in the backseat of my car. She had short hair and had been there for a while. I remember telling my husband in the dream that I was going to get fired because I forgot to place her with her new family. Then later in the day, I find this out.

We already have too many children in foster care and many of those children run. If the nations have laws that protected their family members from losing their heritage, who are we to take it away? If all removals were valid and did with good reason, I wouldn’t be here. I would be working, guys. By removing the Native American’s rights to hold on to their children, we are placing them in danger of a system that needs correcting.
