Will The Real President Trump Please Stand Up?

President Trump made a move today which will go down in history as his Cuban Missile Crisis moment. He was able to separate his ego and put the needs of the country first. Often it has been wondered if President Trump would be able to place the country before the man. After today statements, we can now breathe a tad bit easier. Although, we are not out of the woods yet.

President Trump’s American Hero

President Trump will be remembered as one of the most interesting presidents in American history. The difference between President Trump and former presidents like President Reagan is the layers surrounding their beliefs. If you ask anyone about Reagan, Obama, Clinton, and even Carter you will find a set of beliefs that they seemed to occupy. Those beliefs were often embedded in their administration which produced their intended outcome most of the time.

Obama for the most part was very friendly with the press.

Perhaps this is where the majority of President Trump’s problems stemmed from, in the beginning of his presidency, he often shunned the press. We are a country that gets the bulk of our information via internet and news channels. Trump pretty much isolated himself from certain news outlets out of fear of misrepresentation. That isolation fed a mob of angry news agencies that continued to slander and twist certain articles of Truth-so he would call it. This is how the term fake news took root in his White House.

We will look back at some of the things President Trump has accomplished his first term in office. Soon after his inauguration President Trump started signing different laws into motion. One of the items on the list would be the revamping Veteran’s Affairs. Under Trump’s leadership Veteran’s Affairs would see cost of living allowance raised, a new appeal system, and a speedier way to navigate through the claims process.

They fought for you!

Trump would also go on to revamp the criminal justice system. He would oversee the handling of bills aiming towards reducing sentences for people who had committed nonviolent offenses. Many of the people who were serving time for crimes like simple possession of marijuana could now look to see their sentences reduced. President Trump also did something that not many former presidents can claim. He created another division of service. We now have the Space Force which if I understand it correctly is a branch of service related to the Air Force. These are ideas that I think are specifically tailored toward Trump.

So here comes the policies and events that cause confusion. We will tackle the issue of immigration first. If you haven’t been following immigration for a while, you might not be aware that the immigration issue started well before Obama. If you remember back to President Bush Jr. and Mexican President Vicente Fox, you should recall the immigration issue at it’s finest hour. Vicente Fox and President Bush both had a agreement of some sort which allowed Mexican workers to come to the United States. Here is just one of many articles showing how immigration grew in the U.S under a Republican president. https://www.austinchronicle.com/gyrobase/Postmark

Similar practices soon started to balloon inside the United States and before you knew it Fox was justifying the practice by saying the people from Mexico were taking jobs that black or white person weren’t willing to take. http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/05/14/fox.jackson/ .

This practice went on for quite a while and it was one of the practices which Obama really hit on during his first election. He went on to revamp the immigration system so that more disenfranchised citizens would be allowed to enter the work force. In many ways prior to President Obama you were looking at in America that was very similar to pre Civil War America minus having slaves. The new slave labor was cheap labor with immigrants.

In walks president Trump, he takes the immigration battle even further. Trump is able to see that there were still a lot of people left out of the job market due to some of the same problems that took place before Obama took office. He cracks down on immigration , but the root has already taken place. Perhaps this is where many people start to dislike Trump. Trump understood how the immigration problem grew and established a plan to take back America. He went a little too far. This is perhaps the start of a very problematic stance. Some of the things that occurred during the take-back process were somewhat cruel. Yet, he felt it needed to be done to ensure future generations of Americans would never be jobless again.

For many people immigration would remain a big issue. Trump took away the safety net for people of protected status which soon started to split how Americans felt about immigration under the Trump administration.

Then walks in the continual inappropriate communication between Russia and lately Ukraine. The communication which often seems to be aimed at hindering our elections by way of interference led to his impeachment. This created a big problem for President Trump and some of the people who voted for him. I have often wondered if Trump has trust issues with his own base. Does he not trust his base enough to do things the right way? He moves like a person who feels like he is up against the ropes, but in reality he has a secure base.

His latest lapse in judgement would be the killing of the Iranian General. The assassination nearly tipped our country into another Middle Eastern conflict. In my opinion, we are living in a very dangerous time. We have both the Republican and Democratic party at odds with each other constantly, and trust is at an all-time low. Due to the strained relations between the Democrats and the Republicans President Trump decided to only talk to a few people about attacking the Iranian General. Without a formal meeting with his Congress he decided to take matters into his own hands which proved to be a Pandora’s box in the making.

If there were one piece of advice that I could give to our president today, it would be the trust your government meaning your Congress. Understand that you might not agree on all subjects but at the end of the day, you all have something in common. You want what’s best for America.

Iran Issues A Unique Stance To America

It is now almost 11 p.m. on Tuesday night. By now, we have all unleased our anger over the bombings of Al- Asad and Erbil bases in Iraq. I will be the first to say I flipped out. Seeing the missiles going towards our base infused me with hurt, anger and a feeling of despair.

This isn’t the way you end a 20 year war.

Iran has stated that at this point they pretty much consider it even Steven in not those exact words. If America stands down they will not persue the matter any further. Meanwhile, questions are coming forward. People are wondering how America manages to leave the situation without damaging it’s reputation as a strong force to be reckoned with.

We are and always have been do or die.

I wouldn’t want to be in President Trump’s shoes for even a split second tonight. He has to make a decision on how his country will continue. If he caves, what will it mean for the rest of the international community? At this point we know how we got here, but the meat of this story is where do we go from here. Do we retaliate and go full blown into a world war? Or will we see something different from Trump this time around? Will he take the time out to talk to all members of Congress and hammer out a reasonable plan.

Up to this point, Trump has done Trump. Meaning he has done what he wants when he wants, but now he has to come to terms with a new reality. People will live and die by the choice he makes in the next few days. I cannot even begin to say what I would do in THIS situation, but the one thing I know I wouldn’t do is exclude seasoned minds on either sides of the table. He will need to trust like never before if he wants to save our great country !

Relocation Programs For Getting Our Families Out Of High Crime Areas

Photo by Leon Macapagal on Pexels.com

I read in the news this week that Trump has started working on a plan to help get homeless people off the streets in California. I would love to see our government work towards launching a relocation program to relocate families from high crime areas such as Chicago. We do not talk enough about how the children growing up in Chicago and cities like it deserve so much more than what we are giving them. Some of these children are living in constant fear, right inside America. There’s no asylum process for them, they are just stuck and have been stuck for generations.

This morning a child arrived late to his or her first class in Chicago and many other cities like it because they had to take a safe route to school. That route added another 20 minutes to their trip, but they didn’t care. They were trying to get to their safe place away from danger. The truth is, we have some neighborhoods so dangerous in America that even cops refuse to patrol them, unless they have backup.

When I worked in Dallas, I worked an investigation that led me to a neighborhood so infested by drugs and violence that cops wouldn’t even assist. Infested is an ugly word, but what would you call it? The apartment above had drug problems, the apartment across had drug problems, most of the children from the complex were removed and many of the remaining children had ongoing CPS cases. On the day I arrived, another investigator was headed to another unit in the same complex across from us.

On the day in question, I was headed to a household for a removal. The police were supposed to meet me, but I ended up having to call in another investigator to assist me, due to the mother bringing a weapon the last time I arrived. We waited nearly two hours for the cops to show up and they never did, so I said freak it, let’s go in. Upon entering the door, a cloud of smoke escaped. After I took the child and placed her somewhere safe about another hour or so went by. Finally, after I made it home a cop called and asked if I still needed assistance. I calmly said no and informed them that they missed the chance at a drug bust and hung up.

Now those families did not start out jaded. They were placed into an environment that held very little regard for doing the right thing. I ran into a female around the same time with her lease coming to a close. She was working as a security guard and trying to do the right thing. At this point she didn’t have anything negative going against her, but her obstacle was her address. I informed her that she needed to start looking for a new place to stay because her current crowd was not compatible with her goals in life.

In her case and many other women like her, moving away from the tainted areas have been pivotal of their successes. A relocation allows people to start over, get better opportunities, and find safer housing. When my husband was in the Army, relocation was always a gift. It allowed us to search for a new area, and remove our family from dangerous situations in some cases. It is important that we find a better solution for helping people who want to get out of dangerous areas.

I find it sad that we have areas inside our country that mirror third world war zones. It is even sadder that people seem to close their ears to the violence. How can we have a system that lets generations of anguish duplicate their circumstances and hinderances over and over? These people are more than a study, more than a statistic, and worth more than a few minutes on our minds. They are our children, our friends, our neighbors, our fellow citizens, and people deserving of the same protection we aim to give others outside of America.

Chicago, The Ignored

Last night I turned on my radio and ran across an interview on Fox. I want to say it was right before the Laura Ingraham show, but I am not certain because I was listening in my Jeep. I heard an interview with some residents of Chicago that broke my heart. One lady mentioned how bringing in the National Guard and putting a curfew in place would be about the only way to help the city. After I made it home, I found the program it was on, so I want to post the interview and show you how this city is dealing with their anguish.

You know, I am not a supporter of Trump or really anyone at this point. However, I do find myself liking Andrew Yang because he is the only one not trying to cash in on the shootings from this weekend. At this point, I just find it incredibly sad that people are saying that they need help and so many of our leaders aren’t listening. It brings me back to the Janise Harris case when she was reported missing and then social media was able to grab on and she was found in a matter of hours. During those hours, tweets went out to President Trump, Senator Harris, Senator Booker, Oprah Winfrey, and Former President Obama. It was trending half of the day for the United States and nobody said a word. This 15 year old Chicagoan was missing and not even the leaders in Chicago would take notice. Finally, after hours more the outlets in Chicago took notice. Yet, the mayor and the representatives of the city stood silent. As a result of the neglect, the city has become under siege by crime. They had a shooting take place on Sunday which saw at least 7 people die in two different incidents with more that 50 people injured. This is the information from their CBS news.

In the 90’s I visited Chicago, that was my first time seeing people get shot at. From out of nowhere a group of young guys came running and you could see a little stream of smoke. They yelled that someone was shooting at them and my friend and I both ducked down and hid as they continued running on their way. It was a real wake up call for me and my future in Chicago. Needless to say, I soon called my parents and asked if they would buy me a ticket to come back to Texas.

The harsh fact is that the residents of Chicago might not have any other choice but to live in Chicago or sadly, die in Chicago because that appears to be the outcome. Our government has forgotten them even today we hear about the other two mass shootings, but we hear very little about how Chicago is dealing with their death. We do not talk about how a hospital had to stop taking victims in Chicago because of the amount of wounded.

In many ways it feels as if we are leaving a man down in a burning building while we are looking for others to save. Once again leadership comes into view. Who are the leaders and what are they doing to improve their towns? Gun control should not just be a focus when the climate seems ripe and ready to yield a reward for those running for office.

In cities like Chicago gun control might not be enough anymore. We might need to start bringing in martial law just like the citizen asked on the Fox program last night. What are your feelings on bringing marital law to an American city if it means saving the city in the process? Please vote below.

Measure The Authenticity Of The Messages From Politicians

This has been a crazy week, but as it ends, I want you to do something for yourself. I want you to start measuring the messages that you hear from the people who are trying to gain your votes. Think about their cities, states, districts, and how their citizens are fairing under their guidance. Look at the type of laws they are working on while they are serving in Congress. Are they running for office and leaders in high crime areas? We would want to see bills that would help reduce crime and poverty in those areas. You would also want to see them introducing bills that help with healthcare, education and criminal justice reform depending on your location.

Are they good at reaching out to people and lending a helping hand to help bridge relationships? Also Google their history to see if they have ever tried to get laws passed that actually helped people in their areas. Take California for example, it has the highest number of homelessness in our nation. If a candidate represents that area, I would expect to see bills introduced with the intent to get the people off the streets. If not, I would conclude that they didn’t care, and would give my vote to someone else.

This week one Congresswoman will try to do away with measures that will help to keep people safe. As a former investigator, I can tell you some areas need all the safety they can get. Depending on the location, cops might not come to the rescue. Some apartment complexes were seeing all of their children placed into CPS custody because of the activity in those complexes. These families were surrounded by drugs, drug dealers, and prostitution. Those areas would really benefit from extra security measures such as facial recognition upon entry. It would cut down on rape, drugs, and sexual abuse because often times I do not think the apartments run good criminal background checks, if they run them at all.

We want to make sure people are passing good laws that will help our neighborhoods and the children that play or should be playing inside of them. So, clear your mind and think about what’s best for YOUR family. At the end of the day, we vote in the people who either help to bring harmony to our cities or the ones that help to destroy them. Listen and research because your future is too important to risk.

While You Were Sleeping

President Trump, AOC, Senator Harris, Senator Booker, and many more, today started out with a frantic cry for help. You didn’t hear it, even though we the citizens called out your names loudly in our moments of despair. We witnessed yet another attack on another child and then there was silence from those who normally speak the loudest.

Our children are being attacked one by one and nobody seems to hear us. While you were sleeping Janise Harris was attacked by a group of girls. She was beaten and taunted. As if that wasn’t enough her attackers then put her on the wrong bus not caring if she made it home or not. This story hits home for me because my daughter was attacked years ago and just like Janise, she too bent over to diminish the pain from the blows. I’m not sure if Janise has been to the ER but I recall when we took my child to the ER and saw the words assault written across the diagnoses page.

I recall feeling helpless and invisible much like Janise’s friends felt at the start of this morning until Twitter happened. You see, it would have been nice to hear from any of you to show that you could have taken a moment out of your day to just send one simple tweet about helping children who are bullied. Yet, you all had your campaigns to worry about while our children were worrying about living.

Is this the version of America you want to give us? Do you only want to talk about race related issues that divide this country? Today, I’ll have you know that we all worked together to try to find Janise. We were Republicans, Democrats and even us crazy Independents rolled up our sleeves and pressed on the Tweet button. Around 5 PM we were notified that Janise was found safe, but she will have a lot of trauma to deal with because of the attack. I just thought you should know what you missed while you were arguing.

Border Children Fate

As of lately we have been hearing rumors about children being rented and used a collateral in a ploy to gain access to America. By now most of us who have been following this story are also aware of the fact that children are being placed on birth control to make the journey to America. Millions of people are calling for the children to be united with their parents, however is that placing the children in harms way?

What we know for certain, is that most of the people traveling to the United States are men. In an earlier article that I posted, I gave links to direct sites in Guatemala breaking down the people and groups taking on the journey to America. If you read that article, you should recall that most of the people were young working men while another large group happened to be children. The third group was made of families traveling with their children.

In some cases mothers have been seen telling reporters that they have had to place their children on birth control due to the real threat of sexual assault. Keep in mind, these children weren’t placed on birth control prior to the journey which makes you question their level of safety. Now, with the latest findings we are learning that many of these child could have been exploited. The Hill reported that senators have been briefed on exploitation. https://thehill.com/homenews/senate/447288-dhs-official-warns-gop-senators-about-rented-babies-at-border

Make no mistake renting children, using children as tickets to come over is a form of exploitation. ICE is designed to prevent and control exploitation of children and prevent further damage. However, with the enormous amount of people crossing the border, it is now a race to properly investigate who is a victim and who isn’t.

More than ever, the public needs to understand that our opinions do not surpass the need for safety in regards to these children. Our leaders need to start looking at this situation in a new light which means they need to see these children as potential victims instead of treating them like POWs. We must commit to fully understanding who the children are and if these children have been used as a means to gain entry into this country, we must protect them. The borders need to be secured until we understand what we are dealing with.
