What Will Be Our Destination? Will The Republicans Call Witnesses?

Our nation is standing at a fork in the road. We will either go down in history as being corrupt, or we will show how America found its hidden voice. Rather you are on the side of the Republicans or the Democrats, the next 24 hours will prove to be very important for us all.

I’ve stated time and time again on Twitter and in real life that the Republicans must call witnesses in regards to the impeachment of President Trump. It is the only way to get a clear understanding of the situation.

If it were my legacy at risk I would stop at nothing to clear my name. The only way for Trump’s presidential legacy to continue without this dark cloud of deception looming over the pages, is to commit to a fair trial. For most of us with any trial background, we understand the danger in not having witnesses testify in regards to important issues. It’s like running blindly without knowing where your next step is going to land you.

I’ve noticed the trend in regards to the word fairness. The Republicans say the Democrats didn’t call any witnesses when they went forth with the impeachment trial, so they claim to be justified in doing the same. However, we as a country deserve to understand and know the complete honest truth. What better way to prove which group is lying then by bringing forth witnesses?

For the sake of our country, we need to know exactly what we are dealing with. Are we dealing with political assassinations or justifiable concern over foreign instigations welcomed by our current leaders? If we can’t get to the bottom of the situation then 20/20 becomes a joke.

I want to know that we can trust our government no matter who is in office, I want to know that our political parties haven’t become so toxic that they’ll do anything to eliminate people who think differently than they do, and I want to make sure that we are not positioning ourselves into another 4 years foreign influence.

This foreign influence not only highlights Trump and his dealings with Russia but it also brings up questions from Biden and his dealings with Ukraine. Does he have a relationship with them and if so, how does that fit into his Foreign Policy? For once and for all, the American people need to know the truth and then maybe we can move forward without so much animosity.

Iran Issues A Unique Stance To America

It is now almost 11 p.m. on Tuesday night. By now, we have all unleased our anger over the bombings of Al- Asad and Erbil bases in Iraq. I will be the first to say I flipped out. Seeing the missiles going towards our base infused me with hurt, anger and a feeling of despair.

This isn’t the way you end a 20 year war.

Iran has stated that at this point they pretty much consider it even Steven in not those exact words. If America stands down they will not persue the matter any further. Meanwhile, questions are coming forward. People are wondering how America manages to leave the situation without damaging it’s reputation as a strong force to be reckoned with.

We are and always have been do or die.

I wouldn’t want to be in President Trump’s shoes for even a split second tonight. He has to make a decision on how his country will continue. If he caves, what will it mean for the rest of the international community? At this point we know how we got here, but the meat of this story is where do we go from here. Do we retaliate and go full blown into a world war? Or will we see something different from Trump this time around? Will he take the time out to talk to all members of Congress and hammer out a reasonable plan.

Up to this point, Trump has done Trump. Meaning he has done what he wants when he wants, but now he has to come to terms with a new reality. People will live and die by the choice he makes in the next few days. I cannot even begin to say what I would do in THIS situation, but the one thing I know I wouldn’t do is exclude seasoned minds on either sides of the table. He will need to trust like never before if he wants to save our great country !

Trumpism Comes Into View

I consider myself to be an independent minded person. I am not a Republican, and I am not a Democrat. I am by all means an Independent. I believe that political candidates should be judged independently. Most of all, I do not gives passes when it comes to life and death situations.

With all of this, the idea a voting to enhance a specific party sounds horrendous to me. I feel like each individual has to be weighed and considered for what they stand for. Over the past 3 years I have been on the ropes in regards to voting in the 2020 election. While, I respect some of the things President Trump has accomplished in office. I can’t overlook the severity of some of the issues that continually keep popping up.

Warmonger

If you know me, you know that I love history. I feel like history teaches us how to become better citizens and how to prepare for the future. We learn from the mistakes of leaders before us and also from the successes.

This week there’s been a lot of talk about the impeachment, the hit job on an Iranian General Qassim Soleimani and the term patriot. Here’s the tricky part, Trump has done great things with employment, great things with the criminal justice system, and he’s helped to improve veterans affairs. However, the shady dealings are sooo shady when it comes to Trump. Living under Trump’s presidency is like living with an unruly teenager. Just when you think things can’t get worse, they do.

Trump doesn’t want to be the leader he was voted in office to be. He wants to lead for one group without trying to run the entire country. By not talking to BOTH the Republicans and Democrats he chose to ignore half of the country by shutting out their voices. If America goes into another war, it is important for all sides to agree on the stage. We need space, allies and direction. Right now Iraq is asking us to leave as well as other nations. We are locking ourselves out of the Middle East by having him as a leader and perhaps changing our part in history as being the good guys.

Will The Real Patriots Stand Up?

Lastly, if you try to blast me with being unpatriotic, I have this to say. I do not support someone who would have been a Benedict Arnold in the Revolutionary War. Our ancestors would be rolling around in their graves right now because they know he plotted with foreign countries to interrupt our voting process. People need to do some soul searching when in comes to our future.

Impeached President Trump Means Uncertainty For 2020

Today history is being made in the House. After years of fighting and whispers of abuse of power, the House has finally impeached President Trump the 43rd President of the United States. The vote showcased a devided House with members from both sides showing various emotions. At times some members seemed to be a little too happy while others were down right angry.

Many of us thought life was finally going to get back to normal after the Mueller Report. It was a start again moment with hopes for a clearer path to finally getting things done.

Sadly, as soon as the ink was drying on the login sheets, President Trump was right back at it. This time he was in the works of taking down another political opponent. He was accused of temporarily withholding funds to Ukraine because he wanted information on Biden. For many of us this produced a sinking feeling. The Democrats had finally gotten their break. As more information came forward it started to showcase a pattern of behavior.

President Trump only released the funds which still haven’t been funded to Ukraine after Congress started sniffing around. The cat was already out of the bag, so he was on damage control. By obstructing Congress from doing an investigation, he put his presidency in danger.

Using foreign money to gain dirt as a means to influence Biden’s election is something totally in the realms of bribery and blackmailing. If anyone sees this as a small thing, then I question the location of their moral compass. President Trump has a uncanny character flaw and we can’t risk that type of mindset with our future. So, no matter how we feel about immigration, guns, or the economy, we must try to remain grounded by our values. There is a likelihood that Pence could become president. If he becomes president he could appoint Trump as VP, but I do not see that happening. There is also a possibility that Trump serves out the rest of his term.

So, what happens today and months to come? We have people that still need help in this country and no matter who it is, they will now be our only hope for continuing the economic push that Trump started.

To my 63 million siblings, I am sorry. I am sorry that your needs and your future wasn’t enough to keep President Trump on the straight and narrow. If only he would have believed in his ability to continue to change things without placing his presidency in jeopardy by acting like an upcoming monarch. I am sorry for you more than anyone. Your voices have been heard and you will not be forgotten.

Again, I will remind you that we are the engine that drives this country. We can let people drive it into the ground or we can vote according. At the beginning of this presidency I was all about the wall until a noise grew louder. I couldn’t overlook curruption and that’s why I am okay.

The root to all evils.

Is It Okay For White People To Have Self-love?

Yesterday, I was surfing the web and I came across this article on Yahoo. It was early in the morning and my glasses were nowhere to be found. So, I use the auto setting on my phone for a quick response!

Little did I know how many people would be stirred by the response. This morning the response gathered nearly 300 replies and then a sudden sadness took over.

I think we have inadvertently told a group of people that their pain and troubles lack substance because of their so called magical barrier called privilege.

We use the worlds white privilege like they are nothing. However, I would like to wager that white people hate that phrase about as much as we hate race card.

The truth is all people hurt and all people have specific obstacles they must overcome. The danger comes when we minimize the pain of one group by maximizing the difficulties of others.

Where does that group gain its strength and healing if we all fail to listen? One poster made a statement declaring that any minority would love to be white. I had to disagree because being white comes with stress of being born with a stain that never really seems to disappear. Every generation is blamed for the sins of people who lived many many years ago. Where is the privilege in that? There’s no privilege in not being able to talk about your struggles and have the term privilege thrown in your face.

Perhaps if we can stop focusing on who does this and who does that, we might be able to get a better idea of what matters. Unity has to include all people from all walks of life. If we look to end poverty we should look at ending all poverty. When looking at pain, we should look at healing all pain. When we minimize the struggle we push people away, and at the end of the day, we need each day other.

We know what racism is and isn’t. I challenge people to think outside of the box and ask yourself what can we do to change the heart of the matter.

The Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Impact On Poor People

We live in a nation that offers great promise to those people who are willing to work hard. Ask any self made millionaire or billionaire and they will tell you, nothing short of hard work helped to enhance their lifestyle. My parents grew up working in the potato fields with their parents until they grew of age. They were able to save enough money working in those fields to buy the land we now call home.

I never thought about the meaning of hard work growing up because it was just part of our life. My father would get off of his job and come home and farm the land. It was normal for me to help with picking greens, peas, and even snapping beans because it was our way of living. As an adult, I now understand that my parents were doing what any other hard working person was doing, they were trying to make sure we were able to survive.

As I would grow older, I would start to listen to music aimed at bringing awareness to poverty and different lifestyles. After I got married, I found out for the first time what it felt like to live on a budget. Budgets weren’t fun, but being hungry wasn’t either. I soon learned that college was our only way to securing a better life. We were determined to make it work for our children just as our parents were determined to make it work for us.

In both instances hard work was the only way to make a difference. After my husband got out of the Army, I started working for the shelter system. I was able to see women take as little as 30 percent of their incomes and buy condos for stability. It was enlightening and encouraging to see how people wanted to rise from the ashes of poverty and forge a new future.

While working in investigations I ran into many kinds of people. I ran into those who were trying to make a difference and those who had given up.

I saw apartment complexes full of drugs, prostitution, abuse, and other criminal activity. I witnessed complexes who had seen mass removals of children that once frequented the area. Many of these people lived like they were in third world countries. The apartments were run down, pee soaked the sidewalks and the walls. People could be seen walking from complex to complex with beers in hand, all before noon. These people lived in free housing.

Sometimes, when we give free housing to those who can do better, we help to increase the likelihood of drug usage. I’m not telling you a stat, I am telling you the tale of two complexes. Many of the removals that came out of those areas dealt with families, living in free housing. I once had a manager come out and ask me if we could just bring a bus and round up all the kids! I looked at her and frowned, but after I got inside the area, I understood the reason. The drug problem had gotten so out of control that it had started to roll over into other properties.

We couldn’t even get policemen to come with us in those areas. I once had to enter an apartment with another investigator that was riddled with drugs and weapons. Two hours after I made it home, police officers called and asked if I made it out okay. I know Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez might be telling the world that she wants this wonderful idea of utopia to exist for all people, but the fact is, people need work. I’m sure Ms. Cortez went to college because she wanted to work. I find it a little hypocritical to tell others to be lazy when you know working is the key to a healthy future.

If you want to help people, you tell them how they can rise above their current situation. You give them hope by bringing in new programs to help assist with personal growth. We should be helping our neighborhoods to do better and we should be talking about the need for HIV tents that pop up like flowers. It’s time to get real about helping those who need help, or politely get out of the way of those of us who are trying to help people do better in life.
