If you have been following COVID-19 and the outbreak in Texas, you know that this isn’t the first time Texas has revamped their reporting. For many of us, we are hearing about COVID-19 cases each week. My husband’s office is once again closed because of another COVID-19 case. This makes the third shutdown within 6 weeks. Not every case has resulted in a shutdown which is perhaps the reason why his office has been closed for at least five consecutive days now. After his boss came down with COVID-19 he and the coworkers could not get tested. Since then, there have been at least three other cases.

I fear this is a common problem circulating in many businesses across Texas. We still have companies that are not closing down properly and making sure their buildings are cleaned to wipe out the virus. With practices like this we are going to continue to see the rise in cases. We may never know the true amount of COVID-19 cases in Texas or other states that are trying to hide the data from the people. However, as I have stated in the past, you only need to look around you. The answers are there, Google your COVID-19 cases every 24 hours and it will show you any local organizations that have closed due to COVID-19.

At this point, we cannot trust Governor Greg Abbott because he is an extension to Trumpism which right now seems to be a danger to all Americans. This is a very sad time for our state. Many of us trusted Abbott and even encouraged others like myself, to vote for him. However, he has shown us that politics come first, and that is something we can never have. We are watching the eroding of a party because the key members sold their souls for financial gain. Yet, I am encouraged by groups like The Lincoln Project.
